Societi is a free app for university students and student societies in Australia. Students find what is on around campus, join clubs and societies, and keep their tickets in one place. Society committees run the whole thing from the other side — ticketing, members, updates, funding and reporting.

Is it spelled "Societi" or "society"?
The app is spelled Societi — no "y". It is named after student societies, which is what it is for, but "society" on its own is an ordinary English word and not the product. If you searched for a society app, a societies app, or a student society app and landed here, this is the one.
Is Societi an app or a website?
Both, and they are the same thing. Societi runs in the browser at societi.app, and on a phone you can add it to your home screen, where it opens full screen like any other app. There is nothing to download from an app store and no separate version to keep up to date.
Is Societi free?
Yes for students, and yes for a society to run its community — members, events, updates and its page cost nothing. The only fee is on paid ticket sales: a standard processing fee on the ticket price, shown before anyone pays. Free events issue free tickets with no fee at all.
What can a student society actually do with it?
Publish events and sell tickets without a spreadsheet, run a membership list and take membership payments, scan guests in at the door from a phone — offline, if the venue has no signal — and get paid into the society's own bank account afterwards. Committees also run meetings, minutes, elections, a treasury ledger and their annual return in the same place.
Which universities is Societi available at?
The initial rollout is at The University of Queensland, with UQ clubs and societies publishing events at societi.app/uq. Other Australian campuses follow.
My university is not on Societi yet — can I still use it?
You can make an account and look around, but a campus is only worth opening once its societies are on it. If you run a club at a university we have not reached, get in touch and we will set your campus up rather than leave you browsing an empty feed.
Is Societi the same as a university student union?
No. Societi is an independent platform built by students. Student unions such as UQU affiliate and support clubs and societies; Societi is software those clubs can choose to run their events on. It is not operated by any university or union.
